Celebrations to those living in Vancouver! We've been named the world's most livable city according to the Economist for the fifth year in a row!
Toronto was also named the world's fifth most livable city.
Algiers was ranked the lowest (where is Algiers anyways??)

Here's the (brief) article:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20070823.weconomisliv0823/BNStory/National/home

And here's the list:

http://economist.com/markets/rankings/displaystory.cfm?story_id=8908454&CFID=16415879&CFTOKEN=94552766

What do you guys think? Do you agree with the rankings (not just Canadian cities but other cities also)?

^Really? I thought Singapore was the cleanest place because they have REALLY strict laws against things like littering (you can't even chem gum it's illegal).

^^Vancouver's made it as #1 five years in a row - not that surprising, really.

Then again, what with the DTES (Downtown Eastside) getting worse (poorest postal code in North America), I *am* a bit surprised.
