hey guys well I recently dyed my hair but the roots are starting to grow in, I don't want to deal with the hassle of dyed hair so what do you think would be a better choise to coulor strip my hair or try and dye it my natural coulor?
have you had any experience with either way? _________________

oh man, i would DEFINATELY try and match it to my natural color. stripping your hair is SO bad for it (i've never done it but my hair dresser almost has a heart attacked every time i mention it)
sooo i've died my hair something close to my natural color and now my roots are like 2 inches. yay for me. i've been dying my hair for probably like 10 years.
its such a hassle.
so i'd really reccomend matching it first _________________

I comepletly agree with ^. Stripping your hair of colour is so bad for your hair. I've never actually dyed my hair, but I know my friends who have always just dye over with their natural colour. _________________

well, dying your hair involves using chemicals, and using any sort of chemicals on your hair WILL have an effect on the healthines of your hair, but it's not going to damage it noticably unless you dye it often.
hair color fades with time, mostly due to uv rays (like how your natural hair color probably gets lighter in the summer time)
so basically, dying it once won't have a huge effect on your hair, but once you start dying it it's hard to stop (it's a vicious circle) you'll have to do root touch-ups once your natural hair color starts to show through, or you'll end up chaning it all together if you dont like it. you can always try to match it up to your natural color if you try it and don't like it.
but lots of people dye their hair, i've been doing it for about 9 years... and i mean, my hair has damage, but nobody would look at it and go 'oh my god!'
sooo basically, change is nice, and i would say give it a try, but keep in mind the consequences
and if you want to try a color, you can always try those wash-out dyes. ive never tried one so i cant recommend a brand, but its much less expensive and less damaging, so maybe try that first. (i believe that herbal essences has a wash out dye, but im not too sure) _________________

| I agree with the matching thing. I had a bad hair experience before where I dyed my hair at home and it turned like lightbulb blonde and then I started to get roots and I just dyed my hair to my natural color and then when my hair started growing again you couldnt even tell where my dyed hair started and where my undyed hair ended. Its alot healthier for your hair to match it to your natural color. |

i don't wanna start a new topic for this so i'll just ask here if that's ok
for the semi-permanent.. that you buy at the store how many washes till it goes away? cuz i've seen some that are 6-8 washes bu that would be too short a time for me considering i wash my hair every other day.. so are there any that last longer?
and if anyone has a brand they prefer and would suggest that would be awesome.. _________________ "If you live to be a-hundred, I want to live to be a-hundred-minus-one-day, so i'll never have to live without you..."-Winnie-the-Pooh- |
