So GOOD! These are my all-time favorite recipes, I had to share them. Very Happy

Banana Bread
1 cup shortening
1 1/4 cup flour (sifted)
1 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup ripe banana (mashed)

Cream shortening & sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in banana mixture, mix well. Pour into greased 9x9x2 inch pan. Bake at 350º (30-35 min).

Date Squares
9 1/4 cups oatmeal
1 3/4 lbs butter
3 cups brown sugar
4 1/2 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 large package dates (cooked)

Mix the first 5 ingredients well. Flatten some of the mixture on a cookie sheet. Place dates on top. Put more oatmeal mix on top of the dates. Bake at 375º (45 min).

Aunt Marj’s Treats
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup peanut butter
any cereal of your choice (I recommend cheerios, cornflakes, cornpops, or reesepuffs..)

Boil first 3 ingredients for 1 min. Add peanut butter. Boil for 1-2 min. Leave heat on low; add 2 cups cheerios, 2 cups cornflakes, 1 cup peanuts. Take off heat. Drop by spoonful on wax paper.
*Any cereal is alright, experiment!! Lucky charms might be awful though. Make sure the cereal all adds up to 4 cups.

Marshmallow Peanut Squares
1 large bag butterscotch chipits
1/2 cup butter
1 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Put all of this in a double boiler until melted. Pour this over 1 package of miniature marshmallows in a 9x13 greased pan. Cool in fridge.

My mom's made the peanut butter marshmellow squares before and they're good! A little sweet, but still good.
And I've made something similar to Aunt Marj’s Treats. Only I just used peanut butter, honey and cheerios. And those were REALLY good.

^^A double boiler is like a pot with two parts - I see it as two pots that stack on each other. The bottom part is usually filled with water, which is boiled. The steam from the boiled water then cooks whatever is put on the top part.

Anyway, the marshmallow peanut butter squares sound really good! I <3 everything to do with pb!
