If your computer is any older than 7 years, you need to get a computer upgrade. More memory (RAM) is the best suggestion.
If it's newer than 7 years, it might have to do something with your internet connection. Do you know if you're connected to the internet by cable/DSL or by modem/dial-up? If by dial-up, then there's nothing you can do short of getting your parents to upgrade to Cable internet.
If you do have Cable internet, then it's possible that you might have too many programs running at the same time, or even more likely, too much malware on your computer (malware/adware, if you don't know, is stuff like viruses and such). You might want to get a mal scanner and/or a virus scanner if you don't yet have either installed (you really should already, though).
Anything other than the above, I'm not sure what you can do. These days, loading *pages* from the internet, the speed of your computer isn't a factor - only when loading *programs* it is.
Then again, it depends on what pages you're loading. Plaintext pages with some images, no speed issue. Pages full of media like auto-playing music and lots of flash animations, you'll need more memory (RAM).
Standard amount of memory in a computer is now 1 Gigabyte (1024 Megabytes), though that number is quickly increasing, already. If you don't have 1GB, get some.
