So a few years ago my dad got cancer.
And my mom told my sister and I that he was sick.
I had no idea how to react to that.
I think I was about in 4 grade then.
A week later a went bowling for my brithday.
I had just turned 9 that day.
That was the day my dad found out he had cancer.
So he started getting radiation to make the tomber smaller.
About that time we found out that my dad had an uncle with cancer.
He had never told the family, and we were pretty sure thats where my dad got his.
So when radiation was over he got the surgery.
I hated seeing him in the hospital bed because it made me cry.
After about a week in the hospital he came home and started his chemotherapy.
His immune system was really weak so any time someone in my school
would get sick my parents would get a phone call.
Sometimes I would go to bed and wake up to see my sister and ask her what was wrong.
She told me that my dad was sick and staying in the hospital for a bit.
That would happen a lot of times.
So its been a while since that and my dad celebrated his 50th birthday last
year with a huge surprise party.
So everything was going good until a month ago when my parents told me
that my uncle[my dads brother-in-law.]has the same cancer as my dad.
Hes starting his chemotherapy soon.
But I just feel like my whole family is dropping dead.
Crying or Very sad

I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle. I'm not sure you know this but my dad is currently fighting cancer. He was diagnosed with it about 2-and-a-half years ago, underwent surgery 1-and-a-half year ago and started chemotherapy about 8 months ago...so I know how you feel. *hug* I'm glad to hear that your dad celebrated his 50th birthday a little while ago and is doing so well. I may not know you personally but do know that I'll pray for you, your family and especially your uncle in this tough time. My dad's still undergoing chemotherapy and I hope that the drugs are fighting the cancer hard. Remember that chemotherapy is becoming more and more effective as modern medicine continues to make advances. Please tell your uncle to keep positive and as active as possible. A healthy outlook and a strong support network is vital. God bless and stay strong. *HUG*

Crying or Very sad im sorry to hear about this. Sad and jousy pretty much said everything but yeah, i'll pray for you and your family too! so keep your head up, think positive thoughts, and don't be afraid to cry every once in a while; it's better to release things than keep everything bottled up inside you! feel better! I am really scared that I am going to get cancer. Two years ago my mom got ovarian cancer and it was so hard because she was away so much and had to go through so much radiation. Its gone now but I am still scared it might come back. My aunt had cancer and so did my grandma. I remember writing the longest post on the old F18 during the time my mom had cancer and I started crying while writing it, oh crap I am crying again..... I also have moles all over my body and I almost don't want to check because I am so scared. AND just to top it off this year at school a girl (who I know) in my grade was diegnosed with childhood leukemia.

Yay, basically I've had A LOT of experience with cancer. Which sucks!

^I have a mole on the top of my head that in grade 4, started growing and they thought it may be cancer. It hasn't changed since, but I am still extremely nervous that something will happen to it and I'll get cancer.

i'm very sorry to hear about your family.. I wish you all the best.

In January, my best friends brother died of cancer. He was only 13 years old.. he fought it for 2 years. It was the same type of cancer Terry Fox had, actually. About a year and a half ago, they thought they got rid of all his cancer, and everyone was so relieved. But then it came back, and he kept getting worse and worse.. and eventually they just let him go. He was such a beautiful kid.
