so, im gonna go ahead and assume that even with their sale prices, aritzia probably isn't the best place to get jeans.

where's another place in vancouver/burnaby that sells r&r @ a better price? im specifically looking for the gold r&r back pockets, or the purple logo pockets; but im open to most, though.

I actually think Aritzia's sale prices for Rocks aren't bad. I'm from Calgary though, so I'm not sure where else you can get them in Van.

hm, i was thinking of waiting a bit, cause i really can't wear jeans now anyways - its so hot.

does below the belt sell any rocks? i guess the aritzia warehouse sale's a bust with teh whole size thing, so yeah, anywhere else; chain stores or whatever?

they had some pretty good sales at aritzia. i was at the one in oakridge. they had crowns in a size 23 for close to $200 I think. and they had some regular rocks as well. I believe the cheapest price i saw was $147, however it was a size 31. But try looking at all the locations!

-DC Sample Sales??
-theres also this store located in Fairview Mall and i forgot the same of it, but i recently went and i saw the new "golden chains on the pocket" pair of r&rs...lol

^haha yeah i'm not quite fond of those particular r&rs, but just trying to help out =P yeah like i went to the DC sample sale couple months ago...it wasn't good at all...but i'm actually thinking of attending the one coming up this thurs. anyone else gonna go check it out?

The aritzia sales werent thaat bad. They were around $179 but i dont remember. I havent seen any of the gold r's on sale, ive only seen the chain pockets and some victoria beckham crowns.

i put these darkwash ones with yellow back pockets on hold today .. for $210, that's pretty much as good as it gets, right? they had sizes too Happy

do they stretch out a lot though? i sized down one, but the thighs feel liek they're going to stretch ..

well when I went last year, my sister got a pair of them that are pretty nice
for only $100 but she really dug through the jeans section. and by the way, does anyone know if they'll have new tna sweaters at the sale? I really really want the new yellow one but I want it for $40. Razz

If you can wait until boxing day-Dutil Denim (303 West Cordova) in gastown had a good sale on R&Rs last year. I picked up a pair for $160-and there were lots of sizes left because the store was pretty new so not that many people knew about it. Good selection of lots of other small denim brands though (no sevens/COH/etc). Not sure if they have sales during other times of the year though, but you could always check. It's an all denim boutique.

They do sell R&Rs @ Holts, and sometimes but rarely you can find a pair on sale, but not necessarily in styles that are recent and ones that you'd like.

IMO, I agree with whoever said above that they stretch alot. The denim's quite thin, and my friend's "Scorpions" actually ripped..(the ones with the back backpockets with flaps), and R&Rs frankly are over-hyped.

Another all denim boutique that I LOVE is FAB on 4th Ave. I know around July, I went and they had like 15%-20% off most brands, since it was their "BIG SALE" time. I find that I can always get a good deal whenever FAB's on sale, so you should give it a try.

@puddingcup - The zipups? I'm sure they'll have the zip-ups but there's no guarantee that yellow'll be there.

^Agree about stretching and thinness of denim.

When I bought my first pair, from Aritzia, the saleslady warned that they do stretch out a size. Also be careful about the darker washes because they do tend to rub off on clothing. Crystallized denim needs dry cleaning and you should wash darker washes in cold water and dry on a low setting (R&Rs are fragile, imo).

There are specific washes that can be more prone to ripping than others. I know that the Agent wash (AG) are very thin material-wise and rip very easily.

I recommend sizing down a bit, though there are plenty of pairs that fit true to size. If you want to find out which kinds stretch more than others there are plenty of experts at authenticforum and honestforum that can help you out. Again with those sites, they can help you authenticate items selling on eBay and such so you can actually find real pairs on ebay for a really awesome price, as well as lists of authentic denim retailers on ebay and other various sites.

I don't know that much about Holts in Vancouver but during their last sale in Calgary I found quite a few pairs of R&R on sale.

Is there an Urban in Vancouver? If so I know they sell plenty of R&R and I've seen a few decent pairs for under $200, though it can be hard to find a good pair of Rocks on sale, so expect prices in the $200 range.

acually i think the prices are reasonable..lol anyways there the metrotown winners have this brand called... rock and roll? i dont remember but it hads liek the same logo with the two rs beside each other with one backwards it always fools me and i think its r&republic

^If you're not sure on authenticity check out authenticity guides at authenticforum. If you learn a few good pointers you should be able to spot out fake and real pairs (eg. streaky wash, thickness of placement of r, etc.)

Also remember that there are newer Rs coming out so if you see them, they aren't necessarily fake. Both of these pairs are real:

I was looking for some jeans and I found some rocks at Saks Fifth. They didn't look like the nice quality they normally are. They looked like something cheap (the cheap thing being the product...and the buyer). Was it the wash or something. I was disapointed because they weren't that bad of a price.

^Did you feel them? Looks are deceiving, and some R&R washes are really gross.

There's also the possibility of them being fake. I've heard stories of people buying the real pair and returning fakes, so that could always be a possibility.
