Okay so my first suggestion is to get rid of double posting. All the other forums I go to don't allow it, and it's a lot more organized. When people want to add something, or fix part of their post it is much easier to edit it. Plus, it will eliminate a lot of spammy posts.
Secondly, I think that your post count shouldn't rise in the games section, like at the old F18. People may start to use it just for posts, which I don't think is fair. Also, it's not really fair when someone has 700 posts but 500 are all in the game section...
so does anyone else have comments? these are two things that have bothered me for awhile... |

it doesnt really matter to me although sometimes its useless to post a second time when you can just go and edit your first one, but it doenst really matter to me how many posts other people have and if they are using the games section to bump their posts. _________________

I don't really care since I don't think postcount matters in any way...
But the way it's set up might have to be how the site allows you. They might not have features that don't count certain posts for counts (like games on the old F18). _________________

Although I voted for both, I'd have to say that the game post thing doesn't really matter all that much. The amount of posts that you have doesn't reflect at all any sort of "popularity" thing or "the more posts you have, the more important what you say gets" or whatever. It's just posts.
However, I do agree with the double-posting thing. Other forums I frequent, don't really allow it. Some do, to a degree... but I don't think a person should be allowed to make 3 posts in a row in 1 thread within 1 day (or 10 minutes, for that matter).
I rarely double-post, myself. When I do, it's only if more than 1 day has passed. |

It doesn't really matter to me either but sometimes double posting DOES get really annoying and it's not fair that the people in the games section get meaningless post counts. _________________

I agree with both.
I actually don't really care, but I voted both because :
a) double posting - it takes up space, especially if you have a large signature. like me. so it's annoying, when you can just edit it.
b) the games section - I didn't realize till now that your posts counted there. posts can be achieved so easily through games and i know that on the old f18, when i was new, i respected and looked up to everyone who was a miss universe or supermodel, and trusted their advice more than someone with few posts. if someone blows it all away in the games section, they make it look like they're a loyal, fashion-knowing helpful poster when they're really just playing games a lot of the time.
I don't know, it doesn't really matter to me, I know lots of us were from the old one anyway so after a few years you get to know people. _________________

| ^ Thank you for elaborating on the points! Yeah, also I especially agree with part b)... I always wanted to have a lot of posts like some of the other girls when I first joined, and I would really like to do it by meaningful posts. |

Hi everyone, I hear ya, definitely. I agree that on the old forums, it was a good idea to not have games+nerbiew posts count toward a user's total post count. I have actually contacted the Support Staff with a question about that and they say that as they continue to update the forumwise forums new features like these may become available. However, at the moment, there is no way to control post counts and double postings as is was/is on the old forums.
I suggest then that you base your trust, respect and "approval" of other users based on the posts that you've read, not just on post count.
This may be a mixed blessing after all.
Remember, the main point is to have fun not compete ... _________________
