I got mine from a dollar store too.

I don't think they are thaaat important. I use them everyone once in a while to make my eyes look bigger, but really I don't think they help all that much.

If there's hardly a difference...
use your blowdryer to heat it for 5 secs and then try, works like a charm!

Yeah, I have to curl my eyelashes because they're not naturally curly on its own. I have a shiseido one

I curl my lashes everyday because my lashes are naturally straight >.< Curling my lashes makes my eyes bigger. I use a Shiseido one and it does a great job.

I use the Shiseido one too and it works wonders for me because I have dead-straight lashes.

I love my eyelash curler and could not live without it. You should totally get one. I've heard that the Shu Uemura one is the best. Mine is just revlon or something from shoppers though. Happy

What's the difference between an eye-lash curler and like really good mascara? Question

^ Even if I have a really good mascara (lengthening, volumizing, curles), it still wouldn't make my eyelashes curl. My eyelashes are stick straight..well, not stick straight but they're pretty straight. There's would be no effect to my lashes if I had the best mascara on. Curling my eyelashes before puttingon mascara gives it that curl and the mascara holds it throughout the day.

you should curl your lashes before you apply mascara or else it breaks your lashes

You could take away all my other make-up, and I'd be okay with it .. but I'd want the eyelash curler, haha. I have used it every single day since the day that I got it .. I think nearly 4 years ago, haha. Which is not healthy for my lashes, but it doesn't pull them out, at least. My lashes are stick straight and they point DOWN .. curling them makes a HUGE difference. I sometimes use mascara, but when I'm lazy then I just curl my lashes.

But yeah .. even if I'm late, I don't leave the house unless I've curled lashes =P. Weird, I know. I curl my lashes last [not everybody does this but I do], and while I do my other stuff, I leave it on top of the heating grate, so when I'm ready to use it, it is warm [if it is HOT then I wait for it to cool until it is safe] .. and it works like a charm.

I've tried curling mascaras .. they did nothing .. to me, there is no alternative. I'll usually curl my lashes and add a coat or two of mascara to lock in the curl, and to make them look longer/fuller.

An eye-lash is a really quick and painfree way for me to look awake (especially with those 6:45 am shifts! ugh) and pretty. It makes lashes look longer too, I don't know, I used to never use one but now I realize I could NOT go a day without it, it becomes a sort of addiction and it really changes everything.

I really don't think it's THAT necessary, my aunt is a beauty consultant and she says it's kind of bad for your lashes..like, if you do it everyday because there will be a crease.

Hey, I've been using an eyelash curler every day for the past 5 years and it did nothing (bad) to my lashes.

Yeah I love my eyelash curler! I got one by revlon at shoppers and it works fine. I haven't looked around for a non-drugstore brand for it though. My eyelashes are long and kinda curl on its own already, but I find that the curler makes it look even better, especially with mascara. Haha actually a long long time ago when I was around 14 or so and I wore glasses, my eyelashes would smudge up the lens since they were so long so I had to get the curler so I wouldn't have to go to the bathroom every hour to clean my glasses Razz

I never really noticed a difference with mine...but my lashes are shorter and naturally curly. You may not need them, but if your lashes are straight and long i think it would be a good investment.

I curl my lashes religiously.
My lashes do have a natural curl but if i use a curler they are more dramatic and kind of POP off my face and really open up my eyes.
I've always loved my curler and would suggest that everyone tries one once.
I do know for some people there is no difference so i would buy a cheaper on first or try out a friends.

^^Well even if you did get a crease wouldnt it just be like where you normally curl them so eventually they would just stay curled. Isnt that a good thing then?

heat the eyelash curler with a blowdryer then use it, THIS WORKS MIRACLES!
it acts like a curling iron, so it lasts longer and the curl is much more voluminious!

Anyone knows how much the Shiseido & Shu Uemura curlers cost? And they are available at The Bay and such right?

^I know it's sold at The Bay, and I saw it for around $17 ($5 for pad refills). Don't remember if that's in USD though.

I hardly ever use an eyelash curler. My eyelids fold differently so if I curl my eyeashes it looks uneven and funny.
Thankfully my eyes are large enough and dont need much widening effect lol

I didn't feel like investing in one... so I just bought a Revlon one again. I don't know why my last Revlon one was so good at first, cuz I just opened my new one and it sucksish... no positive difference. I still have to use falsies... curling my lashes DOES help it blend in better with the falsies, but I'm still all for fake eyelashes.
So guys if you go out clubbing or whatever and you really want an extra BOOM and you have extra time... falsies! They take under 5 mins to apply and they make a HUGE difference.
