Okay I'm in a bit of a dilemma right now. I'll be going to Hong Kong/Japan for 2 months at the end of June and I want to tell my boss soon so she can hire someone new (especially because one of my coworkers has to go back to Ireland at the end of May since her work visa is up)
Here are the three different options people have suggested to me and I'm trying to decide which to pick...

1) Quit at the end of May with my coworker who I always work with.
PROS: Get some time off before I leave, won't have to help train newbies or work with other people
CONS: Losing out on some money

2) Quit right before I leave at the end of June, but tell my manager I just want to keep the same amount of hours I work now (which is only 8 hours a week anyways)
PROS: Make some more money
CONS: May have to help train

3) Quit right before I leave and ask for extra hours
PROS: Make a lot of extra money
CONS: Would definitely have to work with the new manager (who I can't STAND to work with)

What do you guys think? Or any other suggestions?

Out of those options, I'd say either the first or second.
What about letting your manager know a month or so in advanced that you'll be leaving then? And just keeping your hours the same. Unless you wanted to get more money.

It wouldn't hurt to help train the newbies, if you do a good job your boss will love you more and give you a good reference. Plus, you can list it on your resume and it'll look like you were really good at your work if you were training people, and you can say that training new employees helped develop your leadership skills.

I would say the second because it's inbetween and the pros/cons balance eachother out quite nicely. Letting your boss know a little in advance would probably be a good idea though.
