| I don't know about Toronto, but here in Ottawa, they have one of those little stands at the mall. I think it's about 50$ for the whole thing? Sorry, I wouldn't know, I never used it. Before you go extreme, have you tried Spectrogel? I use it and my face is almost completely clear now, which is great because I used to have bad breakouts. |

| ^ Yeah, there is a kiosk at Eaton Centre. It's on the second floor, near Transit. |

There's also a Proactiv kiosk @ Promenade Mall, in the centre, near the food court. _________________

It definitely worked for my sister. She had really really REALLY bad acne for over 10 years, and she tried lots of different products [including SpectroGel], and nothing worked on her. Finally, she splurged on this .. and it didn't clear up INSTANTLY, it started clearing up by the end of the first set, and then it got better and better. Now her skin is completely clear .. and it's expensive, but she probably saved more money going with this than by continuing to buy random drugstore products that probably wouldn't have worked.
So yeah, I would say it definitely works, just by looking at what it did for my sister! [She's 25 or 26, she had bad acne for over 10 years .. and this is the first thing that worked]. She didn't always have time to use the toner + moisturizer, she mostly just used the cleanser/scrub thing everyday, and whenever she could h ave time she'd use the toner + moisturizer too.
She gave me the extra bottles she had, and I don't have acne but I occasionally get break-outs or faint red patches .. and I rarely get them now. |

| I used Proactiv for about 6 months. It insanely dried out my skin (because of the Benzoyl Peroxide in everything). It worked for about the first 2 months and then stopped working. I talked to my doctor about it and she said it was too harsh for alot of people's skin types (like mine) and doesn't always work. She recommended something like La Roche Posay for me. |

| I had HORRIBLE skin and finally i ordered this online like a fwe monts ago and it works WONDERS! I always get compliments on my skin now, before people would always say how bad my skin was. Now you can't even tell I had acne! But don't buy it from the Kiosk in the malls they charge double the price of it. You can get the whole 3-step system online for around $40 something and in the mall it's like $100 if not more. |

Well, for how it works to remove acne is it makes any existing pimples heal faster and, if you clease your face with it on a daily basis, will help prevent any more breakouts, and if you get them again, they don't last very long.
My skin is combo (dry cheeks and oily t-zone) and I used to often get pimples on my chin, near my nose or near my brows. Then they'd turn into whiteheads. It was disgusting... Actually, when I look back at some pictures, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. I definitely wasn't one of those girls you see on the back of acne products. I juat had a normal dose of pimples. Still, we tend to overexagerate anything that makes us insecure.
So when I started using Spectrojel, it was just like any other cleanser. It started out not doing much but then within a week, the pimples I had were going away. I was still sceptical and thought it would stop working soon. But then I didn't get any breakouts for a bit. That felt good, my skin was almost completely clear. All I would get would be little pinkish bumps every now and then and maybe once a month, a pimple or two that would turn into a full blown white head. Since then, my skin has stayed the same, good and usually clear enough. Except this past week, when I got a line of small red dots all in a row across my forehead. It's a rash, I know, but it sucks because it looks like very small pimples, all in one area. Still, they don't have anything to do with Spectrogel, because I use it all over my face and that's the only spot that has spots on it. |

I decided I'm gunna get Spectro Jel instead. I saw it at Shoppers the other day and it's only $7 something, so it's a much better deal than Proactiv. Hopefully it works =)
So if anyone has used Spectro Jel, please let me know how it worked for you and what you think of it! I only have acne on my forehead and sometimes my skin gets a bit oily..would it be appropriate for me? And does it actually get rid of acne? Please share!! |
it's really great for sensitive/oily/dry skin. it really gets rid of your acne! but remember to ask your doctor first to see what's right for you. _________________

| Well, it works for some people, mainly people who have oily skin and lots of pimples. I have dry fair skin and it made my skin really dry and prone to burning and I just got burnt and started to peel and it was just horrible, lol. It really depends on your skin type. |

Spectro Jel gave my friend rashes on the side of her chin. I don't know if it will do that to you but she used it for 2 weeks. She can't use it anymore because it irritates her skin so she gave it to me but I don't have any acne so I don't use it. She has to now use this cream prescribed by her doctor to get rid of the rash. She has really oily skin as well and acne and it still gave her a rash. I use the Spectro Jel cleansing pads (she also gave them to me). It smells really alcohol-y but other than that, there hasn't been any problems. My skin is dry and sensitive. _________________

I was talking about the proactiv not the spectro jel, by the way. I hate the spectro jel commercials with that girl, its just so annoying, just the way she talks, aghh, |

I have tried spectrogel and it never worked for me. what really cleared up my acne (I still have a tiny bit, but it is going away) was Marcelle's auqarelle line. the toner, mosturiser and cleanser are all really high quality and inexpensive (shoppers!)
a dermatologist reccomended it to me and it has been working very well (better than anything else I have tried) also, try to stay away from foundation. I know its hard when you have acne but it will really help just to let your skin breathe!
hope I helped! _________________ -Natalie- |

spectro gel actually made my spots worse. I think it irritated my skin and then made me break out even more, i was soo mad!
now i just use a mild soap with a toner and a non greasy moisturizer and my skin is better than its been in quite some time.
A lot of these cleansers are just too harsh! _________________
