Kwik-E-Mart

So as a promotion of the new Simpsons Movie, 7-Eleven stores in the Canada and US have changed 12 of its locations into Kwik-E-Marts. They're also selling Kwik-E-Mart products like Squishees (slurpees), pink frosted doughnuts, KrustyO's Cereal, Buzz Cola, etc. They've changed signs (inside and outside) and have put plastic "likenesses" of the characters inside the store. Funnily enough, the employees have to wear the Kwik-E-Mart uniform, too.

Anyone besides me going to visit a Kwik-E-Mart for the hell of it? Very Happy

I think it's funny that we change things to be like cartoon shows.
But I still think it's neat and would visit one if there was one here.

Gaaaaaaaaah. 7-Eleven is scarce around here. I'd love to go visit one... with my brother and a camera. We'd have so much fun. Seriously, my brother and I could randomly quote Simpsons and laugh about it, and no one will know what we're talking about.

Apparently the 7-11 where I live is carrying some of the Kwik-E-Mart products, just not doing a full change.

LoL! Yeah I've been there too~

There was a lot of people and the Krusty O's cereal was all gone ): but there was plenty of Homer's famous pink glazed donuts. They actually labeled it Homer Donuts.

welll they say it's in van, but it's actually in coquitlam, one of the tri cities.

The easiest place to start from is coquitlam centre<3. you can leave the mall from all directions, but barnet hwy is a big street so you can drive onto there until you see Lansdowne Dr. Keep going on Lansdowne Dr until you see Guildford Way and it should be there

if you don't get the directions, don't follow them xDDD but mapquest is a really good place to get directions from. you just need a starting address and an ending address.

Keep in mind that the Kwik-E-Mart is only supposed to be around for about a month: A few weeks before the movie comes out, and a bit of time after that.
It might still be around in a month (I wouldn't know), but you better hurry!

I went today (finally.), and that was fun. I'm saving my Squishee cup. I didn't get to buy any Buzz Cola or Pink Doughnuts (they ran out), but I took pictures. So it was still a fun visit Happy

Kwik-E-Marts are not really from the Simpson's. They are a southern thing, the concept of them are about as old as my mother if not older. The Simpson's use them to make fun of them.

^Welllll... the whole idea of The Simpsons is a *parody* of the typical American family in a typical American town. And Kwik-E-Marts aren't really an original idea, I agree - but it's not just a southern thing. It's all over. It's basically the parody of the concept of the Covenience Store Chain.

The idea of the "covenience store", as far as I know, goes as far back as the early/mid-1800's... though the "open 24 hours" thing is a more recent development Razz

The 7-11s around here just have a Simpsons banner above the door. Nothing special. It really REALLY sucks!
