...why do YOU follow trends? Be honest.
Also, if someone wears a fashion faux pas/something you wouldn't ever dare to wear...how do you react?

IMO. I don't MEAN to follow trends, but I do it subconciously. It's just nice to wear clothes that make me feel good. I like having people compliment my clothes. If someone was (lets say) decked out in northface, pumas, gucci..even if I didn't prefer it, I'd never try to force my opinion about style on others. I guess what trends we choose to follow reveal who we are individually. And don't lie, pretty much 80% of people do follow trends.

Most trends I don't follow.. a lot of my clothes are more classic pieces (v-neck sweaters, solid shirts, dark jeans) and I've been wearing them for several seasons without much regard for what's in or not.
I do have a plaid shirt i recently bought, i know that has been popular for a while now. And I do have some bootcut jeans from when those were popular.

It's nice to have something "current" in your wardrobe, and it is possible to wear trendy pieces without looking like you copied a magazine spread. I don't really like seeing clones, but some people choose not to think and create original outfits and would prefer to have their clothes chosen for them by the higher authority (fashion editors and celebs). But then, it's people like that that fill the pockets of my favorite designers and help keep them going, so I'm not too bothered by it. :P
If we all had discerning tastes and ignored "it" pieces all the design houses would be poor houses, and if there were no more design houses, then the high street shops would have no one to knock off. So being a sheep some of the time is justifiable, out of respect for the greater good (such a utilitarian I am.)

I personally don't follow any trends myself- I wear what I want and what i feel most comfortable in.....I don't shop in high end stores, usually Value Village..and I always gets compliments on how good I look from strangers, friends etc.....The trendiest thing I own are my 2 Chanel Purses and Louis Vuitton scarf.....I guess when I was in school I somewhat followed trends (the "skater" look was popular and I was determined to look that way) but as I got older I realized I wanted my own sense of style. I started wearing more classy things...Heels, blazers, shrunken jackets etc.....I pretty much wear everything. I have a corset in my closet and next to it a Hello Kitty Top from Japan- when I dress up I usually am always wearing some classy piece like heels...it doesn't really matter what anyone wear as long as they love it Happy

i dont really follow trends completely.. but i do wear some of-the-season trendy pieces such as the fringe scraf and plaid shirts. i wear things that i can mix and match and i do own hollister but not a lot to make me look like a clone. i like being warm so most of the time its sneakers and sweats but i do own boyfriend cardigans, skinny jeans, and dresses etc.. so i say i do follow trends but i also march to my own beat

oh and when i see someone wear something outrageous i might laugh at first, but when i look at something different i might look at it and incorporate it into my own wardrobe

I follow trends, haha. Only the ones that I know are going to last a while though, like skinny jeans and boyfriend cardigans and the brands that most people wear. I'm not ashamed to say I look like a clone of everyone else, I probably do, haha. It's too much effort to try and stand out in a school of 2000 people, so forget the mall and the rest of the city.

I never really notice what other people are wearing, unless it's really revealing or out there. If that happens, I usually just think, "Oh wow. Okay, I'd never wear that." haha.

I wont wear a trend because its trendy. I wear it if i like it. Most of my pieces are pretty simple though.

I'm similar to angela. I wear something because I like it.

In regards to following trends though, it really depends for me. I definitely don't follow what the girls at my school wear, because they're all stuck in that logo-y tna/hollister phase, unfortunately. Though there are trends that I'll see on a fashion website that I love, and I'll follow it if I feel that I like it and if it's a trend that will last. Skinny jeans, I bought them because I liked them, and they're still a trend after all these years. Same with ballet flats, etc. When I buy clothes, though, I try to buy something that: a) Is classic , b) Is good quality and c) Is versatile.

I guess you could say I follow trends, but yet I am also a trendsetter.
I don't depend on fashion magazines, I just follow my own personal style.
With the influence of Gossip Girl of course!
