| I'm thinking of getting a tattoo but i'm afraid if it may hurt. I never tried getting a tattoo before so i don't have any experiences, at all. So does it hurt? |

I've never gotten a tattoo either but I think how much it hurts depends on your pain tolerance and where you get the tattoo since certain parts of your body are more sensitive than others.
Is there a specific spot you want a tattoo?
And how big of a tattoo? _________________

i think it hurts quite a bit cause it gets all bloody and swollen. i mean, theyre sewing ink into your skin so id assume it hurts a lot. itll heal though. just think it through before you do it and make sure you really like what youre getting because remember, itll be with you for life! _________________ formerly known as rubbersoul |

Well its probably does hurt i wouldnt know though. Its a needle going int your skin, i dont know how that could not hurt haha. then again it also depends on your pain tolerance _________________

Err, I'm a little nervous, I want to get one at my arm but maybe i'll change my mind. I can't tolerate sharp pain, like injections and needles. Even when i see people having injections i freak out! No way, i don't think i will go. I'm VERY sensitive. Thanks anyway!
But if i have courage to go one day i think i will. |

Hey, I cant tolerate pain either! It just scares me to see something stuck into someone's body.
And I think that tattoos will probably hurt, even for someone who isnt afraid of needles. You could always get temporary/airbrush tattoos though...they are painless and you can change the design as much as you want. But if you ever decide to get a real tattoo, make sure you don't get it somewhere on your body where you know will change in the next few years (e.g. stomach) because then, it might get all deformed and look nothing like the image it was supposed to be. _________________ used to be 'sw33tlilhugz' on the old f18. i've heard its different than needles, as in injections.
for people who didnt think it hurt that much, they said it was more of a buzzing feeling.
also, coloured tattoes = way more needles.
i THINK its like at least 50 compared to teh min. 2 for a black one. _________________ formerly sugarr

Well coloured would hurt more cause they have to change needles for different colours and all that
apparently its just like scratching your arm, at first its okay and then it just gets annoying and it starts to burn _________________

i have a tattoo on my ankle, and i'm not going to be tough and say that it didn't hurt, because it DID, but it didnt hurt as much as i had expected it to.
basically, yeah its just a buzzing, scratching feeling, but i dont think its a pain that somebody couldn't tolerate. it hurt when i was getting it done, but it really wasnt excruiciating. it swells up a bit (mine did), and it's tender afterward, but if it was really that bad there would be a lot less people with tatts.
i plan on getting another one, so i couldnt have been that bad
i say that if you know what kind of tattoo you want and really really want it, then dont let the fear of the pain stop you from getting it! _________________

I really want to get a tattoo. Jod: do you have pics of it? The ankle seems like such a sensitive spot to get a tattoo because of all the bones, but maybe thats just me. _________________

^honestly, i think that its going to hurt no matter where you get it. but i mean i only have one so i cant really compare
my bf has one on his forearm and one on his shoulder, and i was with him for both and the forearm one hurt more, just because there's less fat "padding" it i guess.
its a weird feeling, but the pain doesnt last.
and i'll try and take a pic of it and post it on here
haha im kind of lazy right now =) _________________
