My foundation sometimes comes off a bit at the end of the day, do you think it's necessary to wear powder over foundation to set it, if I already use bronzer? _________________ *parting is such sweet sorrow*

Umm, I think you should. I use MAC Studio Fix powder since it has foundation-like properties, it's good for touch ups as well as the regular part of your routine (right after foundation, rest of makeup, etc.)
I've read everywhere that powder is an absolute must, so even though you use bronzer you should def. have powder at hand. |

Yup, you should. The SA at MAC told me that everytime you use foundation, you have to set it with powder. It helps it stay throughout the day. I usually put bronzer after I've set my foundation with powder. _________________

It's not that much makeup and I don't use bronzer everyday. It's only for special occasions, like fancy dinners or birthday parties. I use tinted moisturizer, concealer (if I need it..), powder, mascara, lipgloss, and Benefit's high beam everyday. _________________

^^^ ohh..haha. nah, i was clarifying. i would say i have pretty clear skin as well except for redness around my cheek. that's where i put my tinted moisturizer.
you know how makeup artists are like you should put TM or foundation all over your face like even around your jawline and under..that to me is so gross...it feels like you have a mask on and it's worse when you powder all over it. _________________

Yeah, but it's something you get used to. =P You're supposed to use a primer if you don't want the foundation to go on all gross, if that's a concern.
I used to have a beauty book by Sonia Kashuk, and she said that you should use powder even when you skip the foundation, but I guess that's not that surprising. |

| Does anyone know if those foundation powder combos are any good? I'm looking for pressed powder but I'm wondering if I should get the foundation as well since I've never tried foundation and don't know of any good brands. |

| ^I used to have a CoverGirl TruBlend powder foundation and it was honestly the best skin product I had ever used and I would definitely recommend it... if it hadn't been discontinued (you can however try L'Oreal True Match powder foundation, it's similar). But yes if it's your first time using foundation a powder one is okay: it's like a pressed powder only thicker so it looks more natural than a liquid or (god forbid) a cream-to-powder. It's a good way to start since it's practically fool-proof. Only tip: apply it with a fluffy brush (rather than that little pad) for more even, natural coverage. |

Okay so i have a little question..
Recently i bought myself a new foundation from Clinique.. which cost me like $30 plus tax.. which isn't that cheap.. and i realized that now it's too light for me.. because i go tanning once in a while.. But i havent really used it much since i bought it, so i dont wanna go and buy another one.. I was thinking if i buy darker shade of powder.. that should be ok right? or not? |

Your powder and foundation should match. Because let's say you apply it in a rush or something and you don't apply it perfectly- it'll look splotchy. I think it's a bad idea.
But you know, you don't have to get rid of your old Clinique foundation, but you will have to buy a new one. Besides, I read that you should get a "winter" foundation and a "summer" one, and since you'll be tanned in the summer you use the darker summer one and save the lighter one for winter, when you're paler. =]
It's expensive, yeah, but it's a bad idea to use diff. coloured powder than the foundation. |

| The dewy look is in right now, so I think that if you just use a liquid foundation and then just dust a translucent powder in your t-zone area to stop oiliness and then bronzer if you want. I dont think its necessary to put powder all over your face. If you have really oily skin and feel that you need a powder then skip the liquid foundation and powder and just use a powder foundation. I have mac studio fix and it works great. |
