if you buy a little package of four eyeshadow colours, you save a few dollars
instead of buying four single packages.
each little eye shadow is the same amount as a single one
so if you ever want to buy some new colours, you can save basically like.. up to $10 I guess.

=)

Moved to the Make-up section. =]

And yes, I knew about that, I do that all the time which is why I never buy the single pots. Actually, I think the single pots have a little bit more eyeshadow actually, so it would be more worth it for HG eyeshadows or limited editions to get the full pot... but generally yeah saving money is what I do. =P

No, the pan and the pot eyeshadows both have exactly the same amount of product in it-> 1.5g
But buying eyeshadows that way is a good way to save money
Ex:
4 normal pot eyeshadows @ 16.50 per eyeshadow = 66$
4 pan eyeshdows @ 12.50 per pan + 4.50 for quad thing = 54.50
Savings (66-54.50) = 11.50!

Sooo you can almost buy another pan with the savings Happy
The only problem is that you can only do that with the permanent colours, the ones on the rack thing. The limited edition ones only come in the pot, so if you want one you have to pay 16.50 for one Sad

Haha oops... I thought there was more in the single pan, at least I was once told that. Icon_XP Blahhhh!
Maybe it's because of the pot that it costs so much more...

oh yeah, can you take in any containers?
like say. one package of four colours of eyeshadow,
one lipstick, an empty mascara and an empty tube of lip gloss
could you get one free thing then?
or do you have to have five containers of the same thing?

I'm pretty sure it's 6 things you need to have to get 1 free lippy, but I know that they don't have to be all the same.

I think you should ask how much the four thing will count for because I know that just the pans, the ones you buy alone and then build your 4 thing count for 1 each.

I always buy the pan shadows! I bought the biggest palette they have and I am filling it up! I like the fact I dont have to search for any of them either since they are all in the same place. The only part that sucks is when you buy the pots when you have 4 you can return them and get one free and that doesnt apply to the pan shadows!

^No, that's not true Happy When you have 6 pans that are empty, you can bring them back for a lipstick, a lipglass or a eyeshadow.
It's 6 empty products, no matter which ones.

I think I'm going to invest in getting the REALLY big MAC eyeshadow palette and just fill it up... I love golds on and they look great on me, but I think I need some variety so I don't end up wearing the same makeup ALL the time.

i havent seen the pans there. Are they just already made like eyeshadow duos? Or are the empy pans and then you pick out the colors that go in them?

They are just like the normal eyeshadow you buy, but instead of theblack packaging around it, you just have the metal part that is inside the black pot. You have to specifically ask for it, and they only sell them at the store, not at normal counters like they have at The Bay.

When you pick out a colour, just ask if you can have it in the pan.

Yeah. my cousin has the big palette and iI think it holds 16 colors. I think it's just good to have, there's always basic colors to go back to but I like having the option..

And yeah, at the MAC store I believe. You have to buy the case/palette thing, its' like 16 bucks maybe??? not sure

You get to chose the colours you put in it, so it doesn't have to be basics. Mine have Nocturnelle (a metallic grape), Deep Truth (metallic navy) and Humid (metallic forest green) and Carbon (matte black) in it. They also have crazy bright colours too.

I'm not sure about the big 15-pan palette's price, but the small 4pan is 4,50.

I bought the 15 pan last week and it was 14.50 (w/o tax). I only have 6 e/s to put in it, though! haha, it looks so empty I feel like buying more just to fill it up Razz
however....my friend and I are trying to "expand" our make up collection, so we were looking at the Stila eye shadows online...and they actually look really really nice - not as many colors and finishes as MAC, but the people on MUA really rate the Stila shadows well. Only downfall is that each shadow is $18 USD, and they're only sold in pan form - you have to pay $2 extra if you want a little pot for it, or $16 for a 4-pan only!!! So it adds up a lot faster than MAC....but I still want to try one Very Happy apparently Holts doesn't carry it anymore?? I haven't gone there myself but I thought I heard a rumor...Sephora better come fast!
