About two months ago, on my right ring and pinky fingers, I had two reddish-brown spots appear on the lunula (the white curve at the base of the nail). I also have two pail lines near the tips of the nails.

I haven't injured them or anything, and I wasn't really sure what was wrong but I kind of ignored it. I was on 'Bellasugar' today and it said that if you have red sports under your nails it could be indicitive of something serious.

So I researched it and it said it's a sign of endocarditis, which is a serious heart problem.

I'm kind of freaking out now... lol... but does anyone know anything about red spots under the nails?

Should I see a physician about this?

Wow what a coincidence, when I read the first few sentences of your post I was like "THERE WAS TOTALLY A POST ON BELLA SUGAR ABOUT THIS!" But yes. I would say be sure to get it checked out cause you want to be extra careful about things like your heart health! At the same time, don't worry, because it is only POSSIBLY indicative of something wrong. And plus heart problems are rare for young people so it's very unlikely that something very serious is wrong with your health.

I know... I'm very healthy (except I'm anemic, but I take meds for that). I exercise, eat kind of right (lol), and I'm at a healthy weight.

But still... it's totally freaking me out.

I don't think it would actually be anything too serious, but it would probably be best to check it out for reassurance.

^^ Yeah I'm the biggest worrywart EVER. When I was younger, I used to be freaked out that I was pregnant even though I was a virgin. Isn't that weird? I don't know what was running through my mind then because that's biologically impossible...unless I was like, the next Virgin Mary. I think that was a sacrilegious thing to say...haha

BUT YES. The point is, it is much, much, much more often than not that it's not a major thing but something very minor so try not to worry about it! Definitely make a visit to the doctor though, because 1) just in case something is wrong, and 2) it will make you feel better to know that there isn't anything seriously wrong. Gooood luck!

have you dropped anything on them? once my brother dropped a hammer on my hand (yeah...) and it didn't appear right away but there was this dark red spot under my nail and i'm assuming it was bruising/blood or something but the person who does my nails told me it just had to grow out. i don't know what yours looks like but mine looked very dark and small.

^ Yeah my foot got stepped on in rugby with a metal cleat at full speed and my nail turned purple and it grew out. If it doesn't grow out get it checked! But I would go anyway cause it would bother me if i didn't.

^^No, I haven't dropped anything on them.

I doubt it's serious but reading about it kind of freaked me out.

my nails have weird lines on the all the time from snagging them on stuff and things like that. i used to get white spots under my nails in the winter for some reason too, so i doubt its anythign serious.
but because your anemic id get it check out, since it could be related to that, maybe?
